Dreaming of finishing school ?

Dream

Dreaming of finishing school ? A MESSAGE FOR THE END OF THE YEAR…

Make the Most of Your University Years: A Wake-Up Call

One day, you’ll look back on your university days with nostalgia. You might even wish you could relive those moments—maybe to fix mistakes, study harder, or listen more carefully to wise teachers whose advice you now understand better. But time doesn’t rewind, and the past stays where it belongs—behind you.

Puff! You wake up. The past you were reminiscing about? It’s not history yet. You’re still here—in the middle of your university journey, with opportunities waiting.

This realization is a gift. There’s still time to change your approach—study more diligently, engage with your professors, and aim for better grades. But university life is more than just exams and certificates. It’s about growth—becoming a better, wiser version of yourself.

University shapes not only your mind but also your character. It’s where you form lasting friendships, gather unforgettable memories, and build the foundation of your future. Success isn’t only measured in academic achievements but also in how much you’ve learned about life, relationships, and yourself.

So, wake up and seize the moment. Work toward your dreams, value your experiences, and embrace every challenge. When the time comes to look back, let your memories be ones of growth, adventure, and meaningful connections. You’re living the story you’ll one day be proud to tell.

Dumplings 2024

Dumplings 2024

It looks like it was last year, coincidentally I am wearing the same clothing, but last year my pants was light brown, and this year was black. Last year I did crash into the students activity for making dumplings, this year it was better because I got invited, and it was so nice and fun again…

Since I have written last year already of this kind activity, I came here today only to share the pictures and recording I did from yesterday activity:

I also would like to say thank you very much to Cherry, she was the student who invite me for the activity, as many students already know, I don't have family in China, I am here alone and when someone remembers me and invites me to participate together in activities like this, it brightens my day.

True or False

True or False

True or False?

If this was intended as a trick, it didn’t work. I came across this issue in a final exam test paper today. For question 4, if the student meant to write “True” (T),they crossed the T in the middle, making it look more like an “F.” As a result, I marked question 4 as “False” (F). On the other hand, for question 5, I interpreted it as “True” because the crossing was faint, resembling a small comma (,) rather than a distinct line through the middle, as in question 4.

Unfortunately, this confusion led to both questions being marked as incorrect, which is why you’ll notice my red marks (“X”) beside questions 4 and 5.

As a teacher, the last thing I want is to be unclear about what students have written on their test papers. This is why I provided detailed instructions before the exam began, as shown in the image below.

However, some students might claim this was an “honest” mistake. They can point to what they wrote and argue whether it was meant to be an “F” or a “T,” given how ambiguous it looks. In a True or False question format, where there’s already a 50% chance of guessing correctly, it’s crucial to ensure your answers are clearly written.

For future tests, think carefully before submitting ambiguous answers — they won’t be interpreted in your favor. If this wasn’t intentional, I sympathize, but you need to work on improving your handwriting. Luckily, I might just have the right book to help you with that!

Hello

Hello

Why Do Men Start Conversations with Just "Hello" on Dating Apps?

Online dating can be exciting but also challenging, especially when initiating conversations. One common complaint from women on dating platforms is receiving a simple “Hello” or “Hi” as a first message. While this may seem lazy or uninspired, there’s a deeper reason behind this approach: time management and emotional protection.

1. Minimizing Emotional Investment

Starting with “Hello” is a low-risk move. Crafting personalized messages takes effort, and many men may have experienced sending thoughtful introductions only to be met with silence. To avoid the sting of rejection, they keep their first messages short and neutral. If the person responds, they can invest more energy into the conversation.

2. Filtering Genuine Interest

Men might see a simple greeting as a way to test interest. If the recipient replies, it signals potential engagement, encouraging them to put in more effort. If there’s no response, they haven’t wasted much time or emotional energy.

3. Managing Time and Expectations

Online dating often involves chatting with multiple people. Sending customized messages to everyone can be overwhelming. A simple “Hello” allows them to gauge responses efficiently while managing their limited time.

4. Social Norms and Simplicity

In many cultures, starting with “Hello” is considered polite and straightforward. Some men might assume that deeper conversations naturally follow a polite greeting.

How to Respond?

If you’re tired of receiving “Hello” messages, consider responding with a light, engaging question like, “Hi there! What inspired you to reach out today?” This can set the tone for a more meaningful conversation—or help you decide if the person is worth your time.

Final Thought: While a simple greeting may seem dull, it often reflects practical dating strategies. The key lies in how the conversation evolves after that initial “Hello.”

The Fun of Quizzes: Learning Beyond the Score

The Fun of Quizzes: Learning Beyond the Score

The Fun of Quizzes: Learning Beyond the Score

Quizzes often get a bad rap as stress-inducing hurdles, but when approached the right way, they can be an enjoyable and rewarding part of the learning process. The key to making quizzes fun is shifting the focus from the pressure of achieving a perfect score to the joy of discovering what we know—and even what we don’t know yet.

https://mgameirollc.uteach.io/blog/invitation-to-participate-in-the-key-to-learn-english-contest

At their core, quizzes are tools for active learning. Unlike passive methods of studying, where we simply read or memorize information, quizzes engage us directly with the material. When you take a quiz, you’re not just recalling facts; you’re actively remembering what you’ve studied, which strengthens your knowledge retention. It’s like a mental workout, helping you keep everything sharp and clear.

But even better, quizzes offer the chance for immediate feedback. If you get an answer wrong, it’s an opportunity to learn on the spot. Checking your answers after a quiz allows you to fill in any gaps in your understanding, and that process of reflection can lead to deeper insights. In fact, this style of self-testing and reflection has been shown to improve long-term retention of information far more effectively than traditional studying.

The real fun begins when quizzes become a game. Rather than feeling like a test you need to “pass,” think of quizzes as an interactive way to challenge yourself or even compete with others in a friendly way. You can reward yourself for each correct answer, celebrate small victories, and gradually see your knowledge grow.

When done right, quizzes don’t just help you study—they transform learning into a pleasurable, engaging experience. So, the next time you face a quiz, remember: it’s not about the score, but about what you discover about yourself and your knowledge along the way. Keep it light, keep it fun, and most importantly, keep learning!

Indiana Jones - From Curiosity to Career: The Power of Learning

📚 From Curiosity to Career: The Power of Learning

Ever since my son was a little boy, he’s had one dream etched in his heart: to become Indiana Jones. Not just the whip-wielding adventurer from the famous movie trilogy, but the passionate archaeologist who unearthed hidden worlds, chased knowledge, and made history come alive.

That childhood fascination reminded me of a powerful truth — becoming educated in anything is a good thing. Whether it’s archaeology, astrophysics, carpentry, or coding, every pursuit of knowledge opens doors not just to professional opportunities, but to joy, curiosity, and fulfillment.

Learning isn’t just about landing a job. It’s about feeding your inner fire. It can shape a pleasurable future where work feels less like a chore and more like a calling. It’s the spark that turns an 8-year-old's wide-eyed dreams into adult realities.

So here’s to all the aspiring Indiana Joneses out there — and to parents who believe in their children's wildest ambitions. Let them learn, explore, and imagine freely. Because you never know which path of education will lead to a life they love.

Here is tale of Learning... (enjoy):
